The Kindness Coin
A small, tangible symbol of recognition, encouragement and human connection. Not simply something to collect. Something to mean something.
Where it comes from
What if a coin could recognize something as simple, and as powerful, as kindness?
Chelsea Walsh grew up in a military family. With her father’s service came an appreciation for the traditions, symbolism and sense of belonging that come with military life, and one tradition in particular: the challenge coin.
Historically used within military communities as symbols of recognition, service, camaraderie and shared identity, challenge coins carry meaning far greater than their size. Chelsea wanted to take that tradition and give it a new purpose.
Something you can carry as a reminder. Something you can give to someone who made a difference. Something that recognizes an act of generosity, compassion or encouragement, and inspires another person to do the same.
Turn it over
A heart drawn by the road. The winding road that carried a rally became the shape of what it inspired.
Kindness in Motion. The movement’s name, worn with pride.
Drive kindness forward. A reminder that kindness only matters when it moves.
One act. One person. Keep it moving. The whole idea, in six words.
Leave every place better than you found it.
Perform an unexpected act of kindness. Then pass this coin to someone who inspires you.
The Kindness Challenge
Recognize someone who has made a difference, shown compassion, or inspired you.
If you’re comfortable, share the story behind the coin, or the kindness it represents.
Encourage another act of kindness. Keep the coin as a reminder or pass it along. What matters is that kindness keeps moving.
As a daily reminder to lead with kindness.
To someone who has made a difference.
An unexpected act of generosity.
To someone who needs encouragement.
Its value isn’t measured by what it costs. It’s measured by what it means.
The details
The Kindness Coin isn’t available to order just yet. Leave your email and we’ll let you know the moment it is.
We’ll email you as soon as the Kindness Coin is ready to start moving.
One day, each coin could carry its own identifier, letting people choose to record where it has travelled and the kindness behind each hand-off. Over time, it would show how kindness moves between people and communities.
It’s a concept we’re exploring, not a feature yet. Join the list and you’ll hear about it first.
One coin. One connection.
You don’t need a coin to be part of this. You just need a willingness to make someone’s day a little better.
